Bear Pride Flag
The bear pride flag represents the bear community, a social subculture of gay and bisexual men who tend to be larger, hairier or older and who reject narrow beauty standards. Craig Byrnes designed the flag in 1995 as the "International Bear Brotherhood Flag". It has seven horizontal stripes running from dark brown through orange, yellow, tan and white to grey and black, with a black paw print in the upper corner. The colours are taken from the fur of real bears around the world, a way of saying that everyone in the community is welcome. Bear clubs, social groups and events have used it since the late 1990s, and it's a common sight at Pride marches and bear weekends across the UK, Europe and North America.
