Philadelphia Pride Flag (More Color More Pride)
The Philadelphia Pride flag adds a black stripe and a brown stripe above the six colours of the rainbow. It was launched in June 2017 as part of the "More Color More Pride" campaign, created by the advertising agency Tierney for the City of Philadelphia's Office of LGBT Affairs. The campaign followed reports of racism towards Black and brown people in the city's LGBTQ+ venues, and the two new stripes were meant to make sure people of colour were visibly included in the community's main symbol. The flag drew some criticism at first, but it quickly spread beyond Philadelphia and was flown at Pride events in other countries, including the UK. It directly inspired Daniel Quasar's Progress Pride flag a year later. It's often sold simply as the "More Colour More Pride" flag.
