Progress Pride Flag
The Progress Pride flag adds a chevron to the left side of the six-stripe rainbow. Non-binary designer Daniel Quasar created it in 2018, building on the 2017 Philadelphia flag. The chevron holds black and brown stripes for marginalised LGBTQ+ people of colour and for those living with or lost to HIV/AIDS, plus the light blue, pink and white of the transgender flag. The arrow shape points to the right to show forward movement, while its position along the hoist edge signals that there is still progress to be made. Quasar released the design under a licence that allows personal and non-commercial use. Within a few years it had become one of the most widely flown pride flags in the UK, used by councils, schools, the NHS and many businesses during Pride Month. It was itself extended in 2021 by the Intersex-Inclusive Progress Pride flag.
