Agender Pride Flag

Gender Identity Flags · Designed by Salem X · 2014

The agender flag was designed by Salem X in 2014. Agender people don't identify with any gender, or experience their gender as neutral or absent. The flag has seven horizontal stripes arranged symmetrically: black, grey and white, then a light green centre stripe, then white, grey and black again. Black and white represent the absence of gender, grey represents semi-genderlessness, and the light green, the inverse of lavender, represents non-binary genders. Lavender is often linked to the gender binary because it mixes blue and pink. The symmetrical layout means the flag reads the same either way up. It's flown at Pride events and on International Non-Binary People's Day, and it's commonly stocked by UK pride flag sellers. Like most flags in this guide, the Agender Pride Flag is usually sold in the UK as a 5 x 3 ft (about 150 x 90 cm) polyester flag with two metal eyelets, ready for a flagpole, wall or window.

What the colours mean

Black Absence of gender
Grey Semi-genderlessness
White Absence of gender
Light green Non-binary genders

The colour bar above shows the flag's palette, not a drawing of it: chevrons, circles and symbols aren't shown. Meanings are as commonly given by the flag's designer or community, and some flags have more than one accepted reading.
