Neutrois Pride Flag

Gender Identity Flags · after 2011

Neutrois describes a gender identity that is neutral or null. The word was coined by H. A. Burnham in 1995, and it's often grouped with agender under the non-binary umbrella. The neutrois flag has three horizontal stripes: white, green and black. White represents neutral, unidentified or questioning gender. Green, chosen as the opposite of lavender, represents non-binary identity. Black stands for being agender or genderless. The flag's designer and creation date aren't recorded. Flag historians at Flags of the World note it must post-date the 2011 genderqueer flag that inspired its colour logic. It's a niche design, mainly sold by specialist pride flag shops. Like most flags in this guide, the Neutrois Pride Flag is usually sold in the UK as a 5 x 3 ft (about 150 x 90 cm) polyester flag with two metal eyelets, ready for a flagpole, wall or window.

What the colours mean

White Neutral, unidentified or questioning gender
Green Non-binary identity (the inverse of lavender)
Black Agender or genderless identity

The colour bar above shows the flag's palette, not a drawing of it: chevrons, circles and symbols aren't shown. Meanings are as commonly given by the flag's designer or community, and some flags have more than one accepted reading.
