Androphilia Pride Flag

Sexuality Flags

Androphilia means attraction to men or masculinity, regardless of the gender of the person who feels it. The term comes from behavioural science, and some people adopt it because it describes attraction without making assumptions about their own gender. The design commonly sold as an androphilia flag has black, grey, white and green horizontal stripes, sometimes with a white heart and male symbol in the centre. There's no recorded designer or date, and no settled explanation of the colours, so it's best treated as a community flag rather than an established symbol. Its counterpart is the gynephilia flag, which uses the same layout with a magenta stripe. Both are niche flags that are mostly stocked by specialist pride retailers. Like most flags in this guide, the Androphilia Pride Flag is usually sold in the UK as a 5 x 3 ft (about 150 x 90 cm) polyester flag with two metal eyelets, ready for a flagpole, wall or window.
