Pansexual Pride Flag
The pansexual flag has three equal horizontal stripes: pink, yellow and blue. It first appeared online around 2010 and is usually credited to a Tumblr user known as Jasper V, although that attribution is hard to confirm. Pansexuality describes attraction to people regardless of their gender. The flag was created partly to give pansexual people a symbol of their own, separate from the bisexual flag. The usual explanation of the colours is pink for attraction to women, blue for attraction to men, and yellow for attraction to non-binary and gender-diverse people. It's now one of the most recognised orientation flags after the rainbow, bisexual and transgender flags. You'll often see it alongside them at UK Pride events, and it's sold in plain, hashtag and symbol versions.
What the colours mean
| Pink | Attraction to women | |
|---|---|---|
| Yellow | Attraction to non-binary people | |
| Blue | Attraction to men |
The colour bar above shows the flag's palette, not a drawing of it: chevrons, circles and symbols aren't shown. Meanings are as commonly given by the flag's designer or community, and some flags have more than one accepted reading.
