Asexual Pride Flag

The asexual flag was chosen in August 2010 through a community process run by members of AVEN, the Asexual Visibility and Education Network, to give asexual people a shared symbol. Asexuality describes people who experience little or no sexual attraction. The flag has four equal stripes: black for asexuality, grey for the grey area between asexuality and sexuality (including demisexuality), white for non-asexual partners and allies, and purple for community. The same colours appear in the ace ring and in many other flags on the asexual spectrum. It's flown during Ace Week, held in late October each year, and on International Asexuality Day on 6 April. Asexual groups also carry it at Pride marches. It's one of the more widely stocked identity flags in the UK.

What the colours mean

	Black	Asexuality
	Grey	Grey-asexuality and demisexuality
	White	Non-asexual partners and allies
	Purple	Community

The colour bar above shows the flag's palette, not a drawing of it: chevrons, circles and symbols aren't shown. Meanings are as commonly given by the flag's designer or community, and some flags have more than one accepted reading.
